Description:
Provide mechanical / thermal analysis on solid oxide fuel cell generator systems and components. Provide thermal engineering input (mass and energy calculations, design recommendations, performance predictions, etc.) into all phases of the design process. Create models and obtain performance predictions for fuel cell stacks and auxiliary components. Identify and evaluate cost reduction options associated with recuperator development and procurement.
Requirements:
M.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with at least five years related experience. Broad technical knowledge of energy systems and components. 3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred).
Ideal skills include:
- Demonstrated capabilities in combustion, heat transfer, fluid flow, chemical processes, thermodynamics,
and structural analysis.
- Operation and / or test experience of high temperature (> 800C) energy components and systems.
- CFD and FEA experience
- Proficiency in optimizing designs based analytical and test results
- Ability to adapt quickly to a demanding multi-tasking work load
- Experience with fuel cell theory, design and operation.
- PE license
