PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE:
Provide Electrical Engineering support for Acumentrics Rugged UPS and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) products with specific focus on RUPS debug and general low circuitry design.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works with Senior Power Engineers to develop new products.
Design simple circuitry to improve current technology.
Identify and implement product improvements and cost reductions.
Assist Manufacturing, Test, Purchasing, and Sales with technical issues.
Evaluate and qualify parts and products for UPS and fuel cell usage.
Interface with vendors to resolve vendor related technical issues.
Provide direction to Engineering Technicians.
Produce accurate documentation.
Work on special projects as requested by Management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BS EE with 2-4 years related experience
Analog, digital and power electronics design skills
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Test equipment proficiency including oscilloscopes, power analyzers and emulators.
Good mechanical skills and aptitude.
PCB layout skills, preferably PowerPCB.
Familiarity with embedded systems
Familiarity with software (e.g. Visual basic, C)
Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g. Mathcad, Matlab, SPICE and/or variants thereof)
Be detail oriented and produce accurate and concise documentation
Ability to work independently or in a multifunctional team environment
Mental agility – able to respond to critical situations in a rapid and accurate manner
Effective communication (verbal and written)
Proficient in MS Office
