Product Marketing Manager


Acumentrics is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to manage its DOD and Commercial Power Product line. The successful candidate will possess a passion for always keeping Acumentrics in a leadership position in power industry along with a proven track record of product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Products include Portable Power Units, UPS's, Power Conditioners, Conventional/Smart PDUs and Inverters along with completely integrated power systems. This position is critical in attracting new and increasing existing business opportunities that are consistent with Acumentrics core competencies and revenue targets.​ The position is located in our Corporate Headquarters in Walpole, MA and will report to the SVP Sales and Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the strategy and roadmap for Acumentrics’ DOD and Commercial Power Software and Hardware Product Lines that constantly “ups the power industries bar’ along with keeping Acumentrics as the leader in the Rugged and Portable Power Products Markets
  • Identify “disruptive opportunities” within the Rugged and Portable Power Products Markets along with the timely entry to capture the lion’s share of the market
  • Create MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification that includes; product specifications, market, competitor, competitive price analysis and ROI to aid in the product development decision making process along with using this data in shaping the Software and Hardware Product Road Maps.
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Be known as the industry power expert with respect to the customers, competition, partners and the power community
  • Generate sales forecast pipeline and forensic analysis to set annual product line sales targets and to aid operations in determine materials, capabilities and capacity planning
  • Provide the marketing communications content and messaging for white papers, presentations, data sheets, website, blogs, social media and articles for publications.
  • Direct marketing analytics to measure, manage and analyze marketing initiative’s and campaign performance to maximize its effectiveness and optimize (ROI).
  • Help prioritize and manage product development activities from product concept, through to production.
  • Support the generation of quotes and proposals for strategic product opportunities.
  • Provide sale support and product training as required.
  • Participate in the industry events, trade show, sales meetings, workshops/events and advertisement selection.

  • Polished and articulate, able to effectively communicate with all levels of a corporation from engineering to executives.
  • Deep knowledge and contact database within the Power Product's Market.
  • Successful track record of defining and driving the product strategy and roadmap
  • Have the finger on the pulse of the power needs of Commercial and Military Markets to deliver first to market products
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Drive beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Possesses ability to make confident and reasoned decisions in the execution of the product marketing manager processes that affect daily work.
  • Establishes and maintains an open, professional and efficient means of communication with all customers, both internal and external. Maintains an attitude of quickly responding to internal and external customer needs. Working to the work and not the clock.
  • Knows when and how to involve other departments and teams to ensure that exceptional support is being provided to the customer at all times.
  • Displays the ability to work effectively and efficiently to achieve goals in a highly variable and often stressful business.
  • Interfaces with other departments and work effectively in formal and informal cross functional teams
  • Has ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritizing workflow on a daily basis and effectively planning and organizing work responsibilities.
  • Continuously looks for opportunities to implement new innovative ways for driving revenue.
  • Takes a proactive approach to interpreting the customer’s requirements and assisting in addressing the customer’s needs while qualifying and advancing sales lead opportunities.
  • Professional display and demonstration at all times in one’s mode of speech, dress, and personal behavior.
  • Excellent in person and remote verbal, written, listening and speaking skills.
  • Travel 15% to 25%.


A BS in Electrical Engineering along with 5 years+ experience in a product marketing manager role overseeing the design and manufacture of power products involving software and hardware. The ideal candidate has an MBA and has experience in the engineering/sales/marketing of power electronics to the commercial and military sector.

Expert knowledge of CRM (SalesForce), marketing analytics tools, MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) and Video Web Conferencing is a must. ERP, Adobe InDesign, DreamWeaver, HTML along with experience working with internal and outsourced Marcom resources is highly desirable. Past Military Service is considered a plus.
